Two important shopping streets of Limassol start from this intersection: the main street of the Turkish quarter (Ankara Street) and the Greek part (Agiou Andreou Street). The name Irinis, Street of Peace, means the desired peace between these two diasporas of the city.
On a free evening, I recommend that you walk along these two streets and take a closer look at how the two communities of Limassol perceived the essential world architectural trends of that time: eclecticism, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and modernism.
A part of Agiou Andreou Street has been described in the “1 km of Architecture” route.
