What is a city made of? Roads, houses, cafes, markets, churches, publicbuildings. This route around Limassol is about the evolution of the city, and itincludes its most ancient structures and buildings that have become symbols ofthe city. We will start our walk from the British-era complex of publicbuildings and end in the heart of the old town, near to the castle.

Our main character is the Irinis street (Peace Street), a hidden gem ofLimassol, with its exquisite mansions, which since the early 1980s has been protectedfrom demolition and new construction.

The walk is inspired by meetings and consultations with the architect Christakis Serghides and the cultural activist Artemis Yiordamlis. I would like to thank for the consultations the historian Adamos Kombos, architect Ntaiana Charalampous, historians of architecture Emilia Siandou, Phidias Pavlides,Alexey Petukhov, Airat Bagautdinov, Clem Cecil.
